Capt. Gaurav Lal is currently an advisor to startups that are finding a product market fit in the maritime, gaming, adventure tourism, and Edu-FinTech space. He has led the Global Underwater Operations Team for Maersk Line, the largest shipping company in the world. He is a Master Mariner and a former Sea Captain.
Prior to transitioning to a shore-based role, Gaurav had become one of the youngest captains in Maersk Line and commanded five container vessels trading worldwide. During his seafaring career, he has garnered extensive crisis management experience and played a key role in the successful execution of two rescue operations on the high seas. Gaurav holds a MBA from London Business School, a B.Sc. in Nautical Science, a Diploma in Ship Finance and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He has traveled to 90+ countries and is a Class ‘A’ licensed skydiver.
